I once opened up my phone and yes it’s an android phone, and I saw an android package called com.android.server.telecom.
At first I thought it was a malware but it turns out that it’s not actually a malware but a very important component of my phone and every other android phones out there.
If you own an android phone, and have come across this particular android package, this post will tell you more about the com.android.server.telecom and why you should never uninstall this application.
BTW there’s another app called Chocoeukor that also looked like a malware, you can also check it out
So without Further Ado let’s get started:
What is com.android.server.telecom:
This app is a very important component of your android device, how important is it?
Every android device is used for making phone calls when needed; it’s practically the most inevitable function of an android phone.
The com.android.server.telecom is part of the android call configuration; the package is a set of codes that is used when you are making calls with your phone.
It’s part of the native android OS telephony configuration.
It has nothing to do with storing your information or spying on your call logs, rather these sets of codes helps to communicate with your operating system when signal is sent and received.
The com.android.server.telecom handles 3 major roles on your android phone.
- Manages your phone calls that is transmitted through your internet protocol, so it manages VOIP (Voice over internet Protocol) and it usually uses the SIP connection (Sip Connection Service)
- It manages call based on your sim card, and they usually depend on Telephony
- It manages VOIP when it’s as a third party or when you switch the type of telecom.
All of these are part of what the com.android.server.telecom does to ensure that we are able to make calls and also transfer some information around using our mobile devices.
Can I Uninstall the com.android.server.telecom:
Even if you can I won’t tell you… the thing is this app is so important that you should NEVER try to uninstall it, even if you try it won’t work as your manufacturer has done her best to make sure that the com.android.server.telecom remains intact as it is a huge part of the performance of the phone.
Think about it, if you can’t make calls with your phone or even video calls or calls via the internet.
The primary reason of having a phone in the first place will be tarnished.
That’s why I recommend that: nobody uninstalls his/her sever app.
Who produces the com.android.server.telecom:
This is usually part of your android package which is produces by the OS manufacturer.
Google has always been the company behind android all these years despite the fact that it is open sourced;
Google remains the tech giant feeding the other phone manufacturing companies with their operating system, phone producers are allowed to customize but I feel few or no body actually thinks of customizing com.android.server.telecom .
